PRESS RELEASE
May 2017
DATCHET WATERSPORTS IS CHANGING: BOOK NOW TO ENJOY DINGHY SAILING, WINDSURFING, AND WATERSPORTS FUN THIS SUMMER

As the new sailing season is upon us, and we all look forward to planning our watersports activities, Datchet Watersports (DWS) is sad to announce that, after termination of its lease by Datchet Water Sailing Club, it is moving on from the Queen Mother Reservoir where, for the past 20 years, it has operated as a lifestyle and experience company, teaching children and adults of all ages dinghy sailing, windsurfing and other watersports activities.
This unexpected change, coming at the beginning of the new sailing season, has been a challenge, but DWS has been working to provide a solution for all its customers, young and old, in order for you to continue enjoying the benefits that an active lifestyle brings. With the assistance of Queen Mary Sailing Club (QMSC), based only 10 minutes away on Queen Mary Reservoir, we are able to continue to offer you similar watersports activities to those previously on offer here at DWS.
Datchet Watersports is now acting as an agent, promoting and selling the RYA courses, products, and other services that Queen Mary Sailing Club, as a Royal Yachting Association Recognised Training Centre, provides. All bookings and contracts taken out via DWS will be made with the recognised training centre, QMSC.

sailingLearn to sail at our Dinghy Sailing School, on the Queen Mary Reservoir with Queen Mary Sailing Club in south west London, near the Bucks, Berkshire and Surrey borders.

Learn how to sail a boat and improve your sailing skills at the RYA sailing school on a large reservoir over a mile across with ‘clean’ wind and parking  onsite. We have easy launching – and our large fleet of dinghies and catamarans are just 15 feet from the water!

The RYA school and hire centre is based on the large 700 acre Queen Mary reservoir near Ashford and Staines in Middlesex, just west of London with specialist sailing lessons. We run an extensive schedule of RYA dinghy sailing courses, RYA sailing skills clinics, and private dinghy and catamaran sailing lessons that will help you learn at your own pace throughout the RYA dinghy sailing scheme.
We have an excellent fleet of sailing dinghies and catamarans to cater for complete beginners who want to learn how to sail a boat or dinghy – right through to seasoned dinghy sailing experts! We are one of the few large dinghy sailing centres in the UK to offer modern high performance dinghy sailing equipment in addition to the usual ‘learn to sail’ dinghy teaching boat fleets.
On site we have excellent shore side and sailing club facilities and a huge expanse of water with ‘clean’ unimpeded wind which is ideal for learning to sail. Situated on one of London’s largest reservoirs our sailing school boasts over 700 acres of water – that is over 1.25 miles across. These fantastic dinghy sailing facilities coupled with our friendly and patient RYA qualified staff means that you have found the best dinghy sailing location where you can learn to sail close to London.
