What Type Of Trip:
You decide upon how many people will be aboard and what you want from the experience. You may be wanting a sailing holiday for the family, a consolidation skills week for different standards aboard or specific teaching for certain skills. Less people aboard means higher intensity tuition… or if it is a group of friends… then a larger group will mean reduced shared costs. Essentially you can chose what you want to do, cruise locally, do skills and drills, cross the Channel or explore the West Country – as long as it is feasible and within the capabilities of the crew and of course, will be dependent upon the weather conditions and forecast!
Our Yacht Skippers:
All our Skippers are easy going, have exceptional communication skills, are patient and extremely good teachers. They will plan the trip with you to make the most of the opportunities and ensure that you get the most out of your time aboard. We ask that you make one aft cabin available for their sole use. You are not obliged to have them come out with you if you eat out… but if you invite them to join you, I am sure they would be delighted. Please make sure you have sufficient food aboard to feed them regardless.
We have a number of reduced cost individual days with yacht and a Skipper for small group tuition or outings that we can fit in around our schedule making for economical days out. If you have flexibility and want to learn some specifics – or just get on the water – register your interest and ask to be put down on a list and we will keep you up to date with the reduced cost days that come available. You decide what you want from these days. Bring a packed lunch and a sandwich for the Skipper!

“Excellent value for money. Excellent boat. Very clean, well equipped and well organised. We had a really great weekend, and got so much more out of it than I expected. Buster was an excellent skipper – his instructions were very clear and informative, delivered in a relaxed, easy-going style. In just two days we practised a large range of techniques from night sailing, navigation planning, pilotage planning, anchoring, spinnaker use, reefing, MOB, and others. We had a thoroughly enjoyable weekend improving our sailing and boat handling skills.”

Specialist Intensive Tuition Weekend
Helen – who was on a skippered weekend for Yachtmaster Coastal practice – says, “Highly recommended for tailor made sailing tuition… best bits were learning navigational tips, especially at night. The Skipper was relaxed and very competent, good at teaching and genuinely cared about passing on sailing skills and knowledge. Boat – good standard/condition – heater and carpet amazing!”
Carl Moore on private tuition in June, ‘We booked this day for two couples to build up their experience ahead of a bareboat charter in the summer. One of the couples had never sailed before.
The Skipper was excellent at ascertaining exactly what each of us wanted from the day & exceeded all of our expectations – we all learn’t so much & had a lot of fun too!! Not only did Buster bring loads of knowledge, but he was so good at sharing it across people of completely different levels.’
