Cowes Weekend Race & Social Events
These all inclusive events are social sailing race weekends which means we have a good time without being too serious racing on just 1 day of the weekend. (see itinerary above for specific weekend) The last weekend incorporates the fireworks event and a very quick practice on the Friday evening.
Join at our home base marina at Hamble, we get to know each other on the Friday evening and have all the briefings, a bite to eat with inclusive wine and train you and hone your skills – so you understand what is expected of you on the race day. We spend Saturday night in Cowes soaking up the onshore ambiance after a couple of drinks once we are safely tied up on the Medina River… We race aboard our Jeanneau 37 in the gentlemanly ‘Cruiser Class’… and return to Hamble late Sunday afternoon to say goodbyes.

All in all, just a great experience of Cowes Week Regatta.

You meet aboard and commence the day with coffee and pastries, carry out the safety briefing and allocate equipment before setting sail at about 10.00am carrying out various manoeuvres, practise sailing skills and get a feeling for the boat. We can be in excellent viewing areas close to the action watching the most amazing different craft in just minutes from the berth. We sail amongst the various racing classes ⁄ fleets to see the yacht racing close–up.
You get involved with as much or as little of the sailing as you wish with hands on experience – if you want to kick back and talk business – no problem. Our professional Racing Skipper and First Mate will run the yacht giving as much guidance and instruction as you wish. The days itinerary will be tailored to your requirements.
Tea, coffee and snacks will be provided on-board while we are sailing. Discuss your lunch-time catering options with us – we can drop you ashore for a pub, restaurant, sailing club or marina luncheon or anchor in a bay and serve a buffet or deli picnic lunch with a glass of wine at extra cost. Cowes Firework Race Social Weekend –
“A superb mix of ‘racing’ and social made for a hugely memorable weekend for all the right reasons. The well maintained and equipped Orinoco Flow carried us from the Hamble to race on the last day of Cowes. We were thrilled to be taking part and had every confidence in our Skipper & Mate, whose excellent sailing skills were matched only by their culinary expertise. As Steve said, your appropriate approach to learning was just right and it added to what was a wonderfully balanced weekend of friendship, fun and ‘finking’!! Absolutely loved it, thaaanks!!” Gayle and Steve (centre of pic)
